Vitamins of the B complex

One of the plant growth conditions is influence of some substances, which include vitamins, particularly vitamin B1, or thiamine. Substances, in particular biotin, thiamine and mezoinozit are called the vitamins of the B complex, or bios. Failure name “bios” was given to this group of substances when their chemical composition was unknown and their effect was observed only on the growth of plants. These substances are contained in a large amount in yeasts, in extracts of which the effects have been observed.

Vitamins of the B complex are also derivatives of exchange and are included by themselves. The effect of these vitamins affects the embryonic growth phase. Apparently, they are involved in the synthesis of the constituent substances of protoplasm, i. e. are a kind of enzymes, and some of them are just specialized nutritional materials.

Nucleic acids

A significant role in growth processes of plants also play nucleic acids.

Embryonic cells are rich with nucleic acids, and RNA in embryonic growth phase evenly distributed throughout the cytoplasm of cells. As the expansion and differentiation of cells RNA concentrates in structural elements of the cells (ribosomes, mitochondria, plastids). Taken from http://worldofschool.org

The formation of blood vessels of the xylem and cells of mechanical tissue is preceded by significant accumulation of RNA. In point and spiral vessels RNA forms a pattern (rings and spirals), where subsequently arise corresponding thickening of the shell. Thus, formation of non-protein structures in a plant cell is also associated with RNA. Obviously, the involvement of nucleic acids in these processes is carried out in close cooperation with the constitutional proteins of protoplasm and in close connection with the cytoplasmic and nuclear structures.
