Muscle fatigue

Muscle fatigue occurs more rapidly during the hard work, when grows burden on the muscle and increases speed of its contraction. In static conditions, fatigue occurs earlier than in dynamic. In rhythmic mode fatigue occurs later.

The reason for the rapid fatigue is lack of oxygen in the air, untrained, or unhealthy human condition, different abuses, wrong daily routine, malnutrition. This happens because it wastes a lot of energy during muscular contraction, and the oxygen is needed for oxidizing glucose. In untrained people or those who have a weak heart, the blood does not have time to supply the muscles with a sufficient amount of oxygen. Glucose in such circumstances does not fully splits, forming an unoxidized product — lactic acid that accumulates in muscles, causing them pain for several days.

The best way to prevent fatigue is to alternate work and rest, good nutrition and normal sleep, with the exception of various abuses.

Outstanding Russian physiologist, founder of the physiological school, Ivan Sechenov proved that the resumption of performance of the tired human hand muscles after a long work faster if to work with the other hand the rest period. In contrast to the usual rest I. Sechenov called this an active rest. Taken from http://worldofschool.org

The central nervous system plays an important role in fatigue muscles occurrence. Proofs of this are the experiments with hypnosis that were conducted on volunteers. Being in a state of hypnosis, the subject for a long time may rhythmically and quickly lift heavy dumbbell if he is instilled that in his hand is an easy basket. And vise versa, if the subject is instilled that in his hand is a heavy weight, instead of easy baskets, his muscles quickly get fatigue.
